Embracing Truth and Justice
“'Alas for you lawyers who have taken away the key of knowledge! You have not gone in yourselves and have prevented others from going in who wanted to.'”
Luke 11:52
Today's Reflection
Today, the headline about Alex Saab reminds us that corruption and hidden wrongdoing eventually come to light, demanding accountability. Like the Gospel's warning about those who obscure truth and justice, society must confront the ways in which it has enabled or ignored harmful actions. As believers, we can interpret this news as a call to transparency and repentance, trusting in God’s redemptive grace.
Today's readings remind us that even when faced with injustice or troubling news, God has blessed us with wisdom and grace to persevere. We are called to trust that all things will ultimately be brought together under Christ, and that no wrongdoing escapes God’s notice.
As adopted daughters and sons of God, we are invited to nurture love and forgiveness within our families. When we encounter hard truths about our loved ones or our history, we can respond with humility and compassion, helping each other grow in holiness.
The call to acclaim God and seek justice is communal. Our readings challenge us to guard the 'key of knowledge' and not hinder others from truth. As a community, we can be open, honest, and supportive, building a space where everyone is encouraged to pursue what is right.
